This award is for the period of one calendar year from January 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021.

The CFO of the Year rankings are published by Memphis Business Journal, an independent company unaffiliated with Waddell & Associates.

Eligibility: The nominees must be a Chief Financial Officer or hold an equivalent position at a local company or organization. Nominee's company must be headquartered in the Memphis or Mid-South area. A panel of independent judges will determine the winners based on outstanding performance for their companies during the fiscal or calendar last three years (2018, 2019, 2020) and 2021 projection.

Criteria include: Financial management: Demonstrated contribution to the company's growth and/or profitability, best practices, and complexity of transactions - with quantitative examples.

Company Leadership: Demonstrated team leadership and superior management.

Strategic thinking: Ideas or initiatives that strengthened the company's strategic market position; success in overcoming business challenges or barriers.

Contributions outside the company, nonprofit work, community involvement, etc. will also be considered.
