InvestmentNews is the leading source for news, analysis and information essential to the financial advisory community. Since 1998, our standard of editorial excellence and deep industry knowledge has allowed us to educate, inform and engage the most influential financial advisers. Through a weekly newspaper, website, newsletters, research, events, videos, podcasts and webcasts, InvestmentNews provides exclusive and up-to-the-minute news, as well as actionable intelligence, that empowers financial advisers to serve their clients and run their businesses more effectively whenever, however and wherever they need it. InvestmentNews, headquartered in New York, is part of Bonhill Group Plc.
What is the minimum criteria for consideration?
This varies by award and is explained in the nomination form for each award category. Each award program and category receives an different an unpredictable number of nominations, so it is impossible to assure a typical range of competition.
Have there been any changes to the criteria?
The criteria are published with the opening of each nomination period and do not change over the course of the nomination and judging period.
What is the supporting methodology for each award program
DEI, 40 Under 40 and Women to Watch are qualitative awards, judged by IN editors, with the exception of the Women to Watch Ascension Award, which is earned by any employer where women comprise at least a third of the C-level leadership. The Best Places to Work methodology is determined by the Best Companies group, a third-party vendor with which IN has a publishing partnership. The IN Best Practices methodology is quantitative, based on responses to the annual IN Advisor Benchmarking Study.
Have there been any changes to the methodology?
In 2022, IN retooled the methodology for its Women to Watch awards, adding corporate awards, including the Ascension award. The other award categories and methodologies remain unchanged.
What are the missions of each award program?
(DEI, 40U40, W2W). /Please see above. The mission, criteria and methodology for each IN award category and award cycle are published at the IN website and remain publicly available before, during and after the nomination, judging and winner announcement phases.
Who are the judges?
For DEI, 40 Under 40 and Women to Watch, the IN editors and reporters judge nominations. The IN Best Practices recognition is based on quantitative rankings of firms’ submissions.
How many advisors are named to the final ranking?
For qualitative awards, the number of winners ranges per subcategory, from a single lifetime achievement winner to up to five rising stars. There is no limittro the Ascension award. The Best Places to Work for Financial Advisors lists 15 to 35 winners each for small, medium and large workplaces, in a typical award cycle. The Best Practices Awards recognize up to 12 firms in different size categories.

Winners’ awards are not renewed annually, but may be cited indefinitely. Winners may nominate themselves for subsequent award cycles, and may be considered, with the exception of lifetime achievement awards, which may be won once.
What is the relationship between editorial and marketing?
The IN editorial team makes news judgement independent of marketing, sponsorship and revenue considerations.
Is marketing “spend” a consideration for judging?
No, never.
Is there a fee to participate in the ranking

YP 2023 Nashville Emerging Leader Awards Criteria:
The Nashville Area Chamber and YP Nashville annually present the Nashville Emerging Leader Awards (NELAs). The NELAs recognize Nashville area young professionals ages 21-40 across 14 industries for significant accomplishments in their chosen career fields, as well as their commitment and contribution to the community. Judges for each industry are leaders from their respective field. Judges score applicants and decide the finalists and winner.

This impact should include both quantitative and qualitative results -- such as the number of advisors affected by the nominee and a clear description of the innovative way the nominee has contributed to the particular program, firm and broader community, and industry.
